Cats are Good for People

I was resting on a Purr-sian rug the other day reading cat-facts and began pondering my life as a Volcano Village Lodge Top Cat. I admit that I have it good. According to my book of silly cat facts I must come from a long line of especially appreciated and proudly spoiled felines. Of this, I boast. It is widely known that the more you humans speak to us, the more we will speak to you. The more our guests take time to pet me, the more I will take time to listen. This isn’t a cat fact, it is a Gino fact. Some dude named Sir Isaac Newton is credited with inventing the cat door. Some silly boy in New Jersey became the first small human stuck in a cat door.I may be smaller than you humans, but I have more bones. You humans have 206 bones while I have 230 bones. I know because I actually counted. Of course, I had to do a cat scan on our innkeepers. Rest assured, they have all their bones. It has been scientifically proven that owning one of us is good for your health. I argue that you humans never ‘own’ us as we like to think we own you. When a cat selects you your stress level decreases and your blood pressure decreases. Life is better when you have us around. Ah, all this reading makes me sleepy. I think a nap is in order. A nap is always in order.
